This upcoming Friday my bestie Dani (you may remember her from a few previous blogs here and here) will be discussing mental health.
I’ve stated before that 2 years ago I suffered from panic attacks. I had no idea what was happening, I was scared, embarrassed and honestly I felt weak.
It took a long time for me to acknowledge that 1) I had a panic attack and 2) to isolate those things that were causing me to be so stressed out.
My experience with anxiety, depression and how those issues were addressed will be my main focus. My bestie has her own story to share and I am excited to really breakdown stereotypes and talk openly about mental health.
This subject is extremely taboo especially in the black communities. Unfortunately, this keeps people suffering in silence. It’s my hope that this forum will allow someone to find peace and most importantly seek help .
